Over the years the Principal, the Board of Management, the teaching staff, the ancillary staff, the pupils and the Parents/Guardians have worked together to create a positive and caring ethos throughout this school. This positive school ethos is based on the quality of relationships, both the professional relationships between the staff as a whole and also the ways in which the staff members treat the pupils and Parents/Guardians and the way the pupils and Parents/Guardians, in turn, treat the staff members. This caring ethos permeates all teaching and learning situations as well as all staff relations in our school and it contributes to the formation of strong and healthy relationships throughout the whole school community.
We extend our positive and caring ethos to the community outside of school and we welcome parental involvement at every level. We actively encourage families to become involved in the life of the school e.g. Board of Management, Parents’ Core Group, Parents’ Association, Parental activities in classrooms etc.
We welcome visitors from the local community, local projects, initiatives and voluntary organisations, statuary bodies, DES etc. We believe that in working together with the relevant partners, we can learn from each other, we can grow and develop, and as a result provide the best possible education in the widest sense of the word for the children of Jobstown.
